In Samastipur, three people of the same family died due to current on the evening of Sunday (August 17, 2025). The incident is of Ward 12 of Vibhutipur Purab Panchayat of Vibhutipur police station area. The dead include Shanti Devi, wife of Ramashish Ram, son Arun Ram and grandson Ajit Kumar Ram. Arun Ram’s three -month -old daughter is in critical condition.
In connection with the incident, it is said that the service wire in Ramashish Ram’s house fell due to short shortage due to the electric pole. Electricity was cut off. Meanwhile, Arun Ram was going to see Ram, meanwhile, electricity came and he got hit. Seeing this, Maa Shanti Devi and Ajit Kumar who would look their nephews, all of them got hit.
Arun Ram’s wife Rinku Devi ran her 6 -month -old girl in her lap and she was also engulfed by her, which caused the girl to be seriously injured. Local people hurriedly admitted everyone to the local government hospital. Here Ajit Kumar, Arun Ram and Shanti Devi were said to be dead.
The body of all three sent for post mortem
Seeing the critical condition, the six -month -old girl was referred to Sadar Hospital for better treatment. Police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident. The bodies of the three were sent to Sadar Hospital for postmortem. After this incident, the local people showed a lot of resentment towards the electricity department.
Electricity department accused of negligence
People alleged that after the incident, a call was made to cut power repeatedly but no one picked up. Due to this, three people died. Negligence has been done by the electricity department. MLA Ajay Kumar arrived on getting information about the incident. He expressed grief over the incident. The victim has assured the family to help all possible. After the incident, there is chaos in the house of the dead. Station head Sunil Kumar Jha said that the police is engaged in the legal process.
