Bengaluru: Sixteen Startups and Six Student Teams Emerged Winners at the C-Comp National Bio Entrepreneurship Competition (NBEC) 2025 hand in the city.The event was organized with support from the state’s department of it-Bt, S&T, and Govt Agencies Startup Karnataka and K-Tech Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society.The Winning Startups Secure Around Rs 40 Crore in Cash Prizes and Investment Opportunities, What Student Teams Received RS 9 Lakh in Awards. Selected Winners will also also Gain Mentorship and Support Through Partnerships with Industry Leaders.NBEC 2025 Drew Nearly 3,100 Applications from 34 States and Union Territories, with Strong Participation from Tier-2 and Tier-3 Citys. The shortlisted 25 finals were chown for novelty, scalability and business potential.The Winning Projects Addressed Challenges Across Healthcare, Agriculture, Water, Environment and Diagnostics. Innovations Ranged from AI-Driven Cancer Drugs and Cost-Effective Liver-On-Cip Devices, to Naturally Degradable Batteries Made of Crop Residue and Carbon Emission Conversion Into HIGH-Value Biochemicals.The Startups also showed advancements in smart irrigation, biopesticides, brain health tools, rapid bleeding control solutions and neonatal care devices. The Student Innovations Included Bone Fillers for Orthopaedic Applications, Pathogen Detection Kits for Neonatal Sepsis, AI-Powered Wound Monitoring, Bioremedration Solutions for Rice Millules and Dry Yeast Formulations for Enhanced Eethanol Production.Investment Commitments were Announced by Leading Venture and Angel Networks. Social alpha pledged up to Rs 10 Crore for Seven Startups, While Enzia Committed Rs 5.1 Crore for Three. Ideaspring ventures, Theia Ventures, Tie Angels, Indian Angel Network, BioAngels, IIMA Ventures and Omnivore Collectively Offred Investments Opportunities Running Into Several Crores.
