A big statement of US Foreign Minister Marks Rubio has come out before the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Ukraine President Volodimir Jailonsky. He bluntly said that both Ukraine and Russia have to give concessions to each other to reach the peace agreement. During this, he once again warned Putin of additional ban.
Marco Rubio’s statement came at a time when it was claimed in several reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin has conditioned to hand over the eastern region of Donbas to Moscow to end the war. At the same time, Ukrainian President Jailonski has flatly refused to leave any area for peace.

US Secretary of State Rubio said that the US will continue to make every effort to help Ukraine and Russia reach the agreement. He also said that it cannot be possible for Washington to make a special plan to end the war that has been going on for more than three years. Marco Rubio said in an interview to the face the nation show that if there was no peace between Russia-Ukraine and it continues like war, then thousands of people will continue to die.
Marco Rubio warns Russia again
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also warned that if the peace agreement was not reached, Russia would have to face additional restrictions. US President Donald Trump will hold a meeting with Jailonsky at the White House on Monday (18 August 2025), in which leaders from European countries will also be present. Russia-Ukraine peace agreement is going to be discussed in this meeting.
Trump and Putin met in Alaska on Friday (15 August 2025), but there was no agreement on the ceasefire. However, the two leaders definitely said that the conversation was good which was very positive in terms of peace agreement. After the Alaska summit, Trump said, “I hope that the agreement we have reached will help us find a solution closer and pave the way for peace in Ukraine.”
