Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate three new metro routes in kolkata on August 22. This routes aim to enhance concenttivity between the right and its suburbs.

The yellow line, orange line, and green line expansions are among the upcoming inaugies. With this development, kolkata joins Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow, and Chennai – The Cities with Metro Connections to the Airport.

The Chief Minister is expected to skip the inauguration ceremony on Friday, according to a top state government official, reported pti.

Fares for the New Metro Routes

Fares for these routes have been structured based on distance slabs, with the lowest fare starting at 5.

– airport to jessore road: 5

– Airport to Dumdum Cantonement: 10

– Airport to noapara: 30

– Airport to Chandni Chowk: 40

– airport to kabi subhash: 45

– airport to ruby station: 65

– Airport to howrah: 50

– Airport to Sector 5/Karunamoye Metro Station: 70

3 new stretches to be launched

The routes to be inaugurated include the green line’s sealdah-stand section, the orange line’s hemanta mukhopadhyay (Ruby crossing) -Beleghata Part, and the Yellow Line ‘ Bimanbandar Airport Section.

The orange line, which now Runs from New Garia (Kabi Subhash) to Ruby More (Hemanta Mukherjee), would be expanded to beeghata.

The jan hind airport station is touted to be the largest underground metro station in asia, featuring five platforms, according to asianet news.

Yellow Line undergoes CRS Inspection

On Saturday, Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) Sumeet Singhal Inspected The Yellow Line Metro. CRS Approval is required for all new railway projects in the country.

According to the railway ministry, west Bengal has received a record 83,765 Crore for Railway Construction, with 13,955 Crore Coming from this year’s budget alone.

In addition, 101 stations are being redeved into world-class facilities, and nine vande bharat trains and two amrit bharat trains are now in operation, as per the ministry.
