Kolkata Green Line Update: East-West Metro’s Full Run to Begin Friday; 180 Daily Services, 8-Minute Peak-Hour Frequency | Kolkata News – Times of India

Kolkata: When the green line or East-West Metro Starts its full sector v-Howrah Maidan Run from Friday, there will be 180 services with eight-minutes peak-her also, SAURECES, SADIDES. To accommodate the increase services, five more rakes will be deployed. Currently, five rakes are used between the two disjointed sections. East-West Metro Uses the State-of-the-Shaw BEML Rakes, Which are operated on the Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) or Superor Signalling System. The rakes need regular upkeep at the salt lake Central Park’s Maintenance-Cum-Deepot. Since there is no stabling yard at the howrah end, there will be a slight difference between the timings of the trains leaveing from the two terminal stations, officiaals said.Metro Railway on Tuesday said the expected daily ridership of East-west metro or the green line would be six lakhs. Currently, between the two sections, Around 1 Lakh People Use East-West Metro or Green Lines I and II Everyday.Officials hinted the number of services may be increased after studying the passenger behavior for a less weeks. “Based on the Demands, a less services may be added during the pujas,” A source said.
