Heavy rains have live to closure of schools and colleges in Several Districts Across States on Tuesday (August 26). Educational Institutes was Shut in Districts of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan.

Punjab

The District Administration of Hoshiarpur Ordered Closure of All Schools on August 26 and 27. Pathankot, Jalandhar and Kapurthala Administrations Announced A Holiday for All Educational Institutions on Augustations Heavy Rainfall Forecast.

The Fazilka District Authorities have also also also Ordered the closure of schools in 20 villages along the sutlej river in the wake of rising water levels.

The Sutlej, Beas and Ravi Rivers and Seasonal Rivulets are in Spate because of Heavy Rainfall in their Catchment Areas in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.

The amritsar district administration has declared a holiday for all schools in ajnala and rayya on aug Sub-Division.

Himachal Pradesh

The District Administrations in Mandi, Kangra, Chamba, UNA, Bilapsur, Hamirpur and Solan have ordered closure of Educational Institutions in View of the Rains. Schools and colleges would also also remain close in banjar, kullu and manali sub-divisions of kullu district.

Heavy to very heavy downpour on August 25 Resulted in Houses Being Damaged at Several Places and Around 795 Roads, Including two National Highs, Being Closed. Landslides have Severely disrupted Road Connectivity Around Dharamshala. The ropeway to mcleodganj has been closed due to the risk of landslides.

The met office has sounded a red alert, predicting intenses of heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places in kangra and chamba districts today.

The state has received 703.7 mm of average rainfall during the current monsoon season from June 1 to August 25 Against an average of 577.9 mm, an excess of 22%. The state received 44% excess Rainfall so far in August.

Rajasthan

The Rajasthan Government has Declared a Holiday for Schools in Several Districts, Including Capital Jaipur.

The imd has warned that heavy to very heavy rainfall may continue in parts of Eastern Rajasthan Till Today, Urging People to Remain Alert and Avoid Waterlogged areas.
