The Union Cabinet on Friday (August 8) Approved A ₹ 4,200 Crore Scheme to improve the quality, equity, and governance in 275 technical institutions compressing 175 enginening institutions and 100 polytechnics Across all states and union territories. The Central Government Scheme will be for a period of four years from 2025/26 to 2029/30.

The multidisciplinary education and research improvement in Technical Education (Merite) Scheme has been formulated in collecting in collecting with the world bank and is implementing interactions Policy-2020.
