Cabinet Approves ₹ 4,200 Crore Technical Education Improvement Scheme – CNBC tv18

The Union Cabinet on Friday (August 8) Approved A ₹ 4,200 Crore Scheme to improve the quality, equity, and governance in 275 technical institutions compressing 175 enginening institutions and 100 polytechnics Across all states and union territories. The Central Government Scheme will be for a period of four years from 2025/26 to 2029/30.

The multidisciplinary education and research improvement in Technical Education (Merite) Scheme has been formulated in collecting in collecting with the world bank and is implementing interactions Policy-2020. Out of the scheme outlay of ₹ 4,200 Crore, The World Bank is extended a loan of ₹ 2,100 Crore.

Government-R and Government-Aided Technical Institutions are expected to be selected and supported under the scheme. This will include selected National Institutes of Technology, State Engineering Institutions, Polytechnics and Affiliating Technical Universitys. About 7.5 Lakh Students will benefit from the scheme, an official statement said.

The scheme is expected to drive digitalization strategies, development of guidelines for multidisciplinary programs among technical courses, increase learning and increment skills, students, studills of studies, In transition rate of students Across Student Groups.

The Initiative Emphasis Enhancing Students’ Skills to Improve their Employment Through a Comprehensive, Multi-Faced Approach, The Update Said.

Moreover, the scheme aims to strengthen the research and innovation Environment, Improve Quality Assurance and Governance Mechanisms, Resulting in Long-Term Benefits, And Develop Labor Market-Callop Labor Market-Callop Blended Courses, and Finally Develop Future Academic Administrators, Especially Women Faculty.

The Major Reform Areas in the Policy Include Revamping The Curriculum, Pedagogy, Assessment, Multidisciplinary Programs Among Technical Courses, Strengthening The Resourch Ecom, Developing FUTURERCH FUTURERCH Administrators, Faculty Skill Upgradation, Addressing Gender Gaps in Technical Education, and Reducing the Digital Divide.
