Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s film ‘The Bengal Files’ is already under controversy before its release. Fule
Prateek Gandhi and Patralekha starrer film ‘Phule’ was accused of insulting ‘Brahmins’ and there was a lot of controversy. Anant Mahadevan’s film ‘Phule’ was released in theaters on 25 April 2025. The film received a mixed response from the audience and the critics. It was earlier to be released on April 10, but due to the dispute, its date was slipped.

The Brahmin community raised objections against the film and accused them of humiliating, after the protest, the censor board made several cuts in the film and the film managed to appear in theaters in theaters.

Jat
Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, Regina Casendra, Saiyami Kher starrer action film ‘Jat’ was released in theaters on April 10. The Christian community expressed displeasure over a scene of the film and also filed an FIR against the film’s team. The community alleged that the film insulted the Christian community and religious sentiments were hurt. However, the makers removed the disputed scene from the film.

Chhawa
The film ‘Chhava’, based on the life and valor of Sambhaji Maharaj, son of Shivaji Maharaj, was also in controversy. The controversy that started after the release of the trailer of Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandana’s film continued till the release of the film. Along with opposing Sambhaji Maharaj’s dance in a song, the story of the film was accused of tampering with historical facts. Along with Maharashtra, many organizations of the country lodged objections about this. The censor board made many cuts in the film.

Emergency
In this list, the name of actress Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Emergency’ is also included. In the film directed and starring Kangana Ranaut, released on January 17 this year, she appeared in the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. There was a lot of controversy over the release of the film based on the ‘Emergency’ in 1975, the former PM. The protesters had accused of tampering with historical facts.

‘Emergency’ stars Kangana Ranaut along with Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade and late Satish Kaushik along with other artists. Kangana Ranaut’s performance in the film was highly praised. However, the film could not show amazing at the box office.
