Ban on the trailer of ‘The Bengal files’ in Kolkata, Pallavi TMC responsible

Actress Pallavi Joshi is currently in discussion about the film ‘The Bengal Files’. Now the trailer of the film was to be released in Kolkata. But the administration stopped this. After which the film’s producer Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri also had a sharp debate with the police. The producer of the film had also accused the state government of doing its own arbitrariness. Along with this, he had asked whether the second constitution runs in West Bengal?

Pallavi Joshi held TMC responsible

Now the film’s producer and actress Pallavi Joshi has also spoken openly on the ban on the trailer release of the film in Kolkata. Talking to IANS, he has held the ruling government of the Trinamool Congress led by Mamata Banerjee for stopping the trailer release of the film and the uproar that followed.

Pallavi told IANS that, ‘This was clearly done by the ruling party of the state, and we are not hesitant to tell it. We knew that we would have to face some kind of opposition, but we did not know that it would be such that we would not be able to show our trailer at all. On August 16, which was the anniversary of Direct Action Day, it was very important to release our trailer in Kolkata.

Government should have helped us – Pallavi

He also told that, ‘If something happened in history, about which people should know and some people are trying to bring its story forward, then the government should help in highlighting these stories. They should have fully supported us. But I did not know that they would not let us show the trailer, which was very sad because it caused trouble to our whole team and everyone felt bad. After all, it was the job of the state government that we would have supported us.

Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has written and directed ‘The Bengal files’. Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher and Darshan Kumar will be seen in it. The film will be released in theaters on 5 September 2025.
