The entire opposition, including the Congress, is accusing the Election Commission of Vote Chari about Bihar SIR. Meanwhile, the Election Commission has clarified that political parties are involved in all stages of preparing voter list. The Election Commission said that the hard copy and digital copy of the draft voter list is shared with all political parties and they are made available to see everyone on the Election Commission website.
The Election Commission said, “After this, one month’s time is given to register claims and objections. The final published voter list is also shared with all recognized political parties and two-level appeal process is provided. It seems that some political parties and their booth level agents (BLA) did not examine the voter lists at the right time and did not inform about the disturbances.”
The Election Commission also said, “Parties who have objections to voter lists did not raise objections at the right time. If this had happened and these mistakes had been correct, the concerned SDM, ERO would have improved it.”
Responding to the opposition’s statements on Bihar SIR, the Election Commission said, “All political parties of Bihar have been given a list from July 20, 2025, whose name was to be excluded from the voter list.” This was done due to the death of the voter, being permanently living in other places, registering the same information several times.
The Election Commission said, “We still welcome the investigation of the voter list on behalf of political parties and voters. Our aim has always been to strengthen the clean electro roll democracy.”
