‘UP- Double engine government is the biggest thief in Maharashtra-Bihar’, Mamta Banar said while attacking PM Modi

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday (August 26, 2025) targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government led by him. Attacking PM Modi, Mamta Banerjee said that you are thieves to Bengalis, but in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Bihar your double engine government is the biggest thief.

Addressing a public meeting in Bardhaman, West Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, “Uttar Pradesh is the biggest thief. Your double engine government in Maharashtra is the biggest thief and your double engine government in Bihar is also the biggest thief. All these thieves are in front of you and you call Bengalis a thief.”

He said, “We have answered all your questions, yet you stop the funds (center) funds and call Bengal a thief. The Prime Minister has blocked the corruption of double engine governments of UP, Maharashtra and Bihar. The Prime Minister is not expected to call us a thief. They should respect my chair in the same way as I do their chair.”

What did Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee say in the administrative meeting in Bardhaman,

At the same time, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also attended an administrative meeting in Bardhaman. He said, “78 lakh people have been given job cards under the Karmashree Yojana. 22 lakh migrant laborers of the state go to other states. There, they have to face insults, exploitation and misconduct. While 1.5 crore people from outside in Bengal live outside Bengal, we do not harm them, but we love them. Then why are the migrant laborers of Bengal harassed in other states?”

He said, “The migrant laborers who return to Bengal will be given health companions cards here. They will get work under the Karmashree Yojana. They will also be given skill training. Apart from this, the government will bear the entire expenses of their children’s education. Free books, shoes and other assistance will be given for children. Minorities will also be given a smart card separately.”

Five Bengal schemes were closed- Mamta

Mamta Banerjee said, “West Bengal is not even given the official part of it under GST. Five schemes of the state have been closed, yet we are running them. We suggested to remove GST from health insurance. Then why are all the people of Bengal called a thief? We have answered every question. Still you cut our markets and you call Bengal. But before the election, you come to West Bengal again and again like migratory birds. “
