Apple Ceo Tim Cook: Apple CEO Tim Cook recently addressed the employees of the company and described Artificial Intelligence (AI) as the biggest opportunity of the future. He clearly said that if Apple did not fully adopt AI, then the company will be left behind its rivals.
In the all-hands meeting held at Cupertino Headquarters, Cook told the employees that AI’s influence can prove to be bigger than internet, smartphone and cloud computing. He added “Apple must do this, and we will do it. This opportunity is in front of us.”
Direct appeal to employees
Cook insisted that every employee will have to involve AI in his daily functioning and future product development. He said, “We are already using AI but now it is necessary to apply it at the company level too. If this does not happen then we will be left behind and we do not have this option.”
Late start but confidence of becoming a game-shineer
Cook admitted that Apple started AI late as Apple Intelligence came after his rival Chatgpt and Google tools. But he cited the company’s old strategy that Apple often enters late but gives a new shape to the entire sector. Cook said “PC was present before MAC and smartphone before iPhone. But we gave them modern looks. The same will happen with AI.”
Siri’s fully remeding
Senior VP Craig Federighi revealed that the company left the plan of the Hybrid Siri system as it was not meeting the high standards of Apple. Now Siri is being fully based on Large Language Models (LLMS). The command of this project has been handed over to Mike Rockwell, the creator of Vision Pro.
12,000 new recruits and huge investment for AI
In the last one year, Apple has appointed 12,000 new employees, of which about 40% are engaged in research and development to give impetus to AI projects. The company is working on its own cloud-cum-committing chips (Baltra) and is also creating an AI server facility in Houston, USA.
