Nikki murder case: 14 days judicial custody to main accused Vipin, mother -in -law arrested, know what so far

The police presented the main accused and husband Vipin Bhati in the court on Sunday (August 24, 2025) in the murder of 26 -year -old Nikki for dowry in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The court has sent the accused Vipin to judicial custody for 14 days. Police said that her mother -in -law has also been arrested in the Nikki murder case.

Vipin Bhati, the main accused in the dowry murder case, tried to escape from custody on Sunday, after which he was shot in his leg in the police encounter. He was arrested again. The police has given this information.

36 lakh rupees tortured to demand dowry

The relatives of the deceased Nikki claimed that since her marriage in 2016, she was being harassed by the demand for dowry of Rs 36 lakh, while she had also met the Scorpio vehicle and motorcycle of Nikki’s in -laws.

The accused husband was running away from police captivity

In another video clip, Nikki can be seen surrounded by flames and descending from the stairs, and then it falls. Nikki died on Thursday night while taking him to the hospital. According to Gautam Buddha Nagar Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), the police, who were arrested on Saturday (August 23, 2025), were taking the police to recover the evidence at around 1.30 pm, when he tried to escape.

The police officer said, “Vipin was chased and he was caught after being shot in the leg.” Daya (55), the mother of accused Vipin, has also been arrested. The PRO said that Daya was absconding after the incident and his name is also included in the FIR lodged by the victim’s family.

Case registered under these sections

According to the police, an FIR was lodged at Kasna police station in Greater Noida on Friday under Section 103 (1) (murder), 115 (2) (voluntarily hurt) and 61 (2) (attempt to commit a punishable offense with life imprisonment or others). Police said that the case was registered on 22 August.

Greater Noida’s ADCP Sudhir Kumar said, “Vipin Bhati was being taken to recover a bottle of flammable substance used from the spot in Greater Noida, meanwhile he snatched the gun of the sub -inspector and tried to run away. He also opened fire on the police team and in self -defense, the police shot him in his leg. He has been sent to the hospital for treatment.

The demand for in-laws was increasing day by day

The victim’s father Bhikhari Singh said that his two daughters Kanchan (29) and Nikki (26) were married to Rohit Bhati and Vipin Bhati respectively in 2016. Bhikhari Singh said, ‘Since then they are harassing both daughters and demanding dowry. He asked for a Scorpio car, which we gave them and then asked for a bullet motorcycle, which we gave them. Their demands were increasing day by day and after that they started asking for Rs 36 lakh from us.

Singh claimed that Panchayat was held several times to resolve the dispute, but all efforts went in vain. Nikki’s father said, ‘I want strict action against the family and there should be an encounter. This is the government of Baba (Yogi Adityanath), a bulldozer should also be run at his house. If this does not happen, we will sit on hunger strike.

Family members performed the last rites

Nikki’s mother has demanded strict action against Vipin’s entire family. Nikki was cremated by her family members. On the basis of Kanchan’s complaint, a case has been registered against Nikki’s husband Vipin and her family at Kasna police station.
